RE:  COVID Policies Troop 666

With respect to upcoming Troop 666 outings and meetings, the following measures are recommended in an effort to conduct activities as safely as possible and in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Any scout who has concerning symptoms or a high risk exposure should consult with their health care provider.  These guidelines are not intended to substitute for your doctor’s recommendations.

Outdoor setting:  Data suggest the risk of transmission of SARS-CoV-2 outdoors  is minimal.

    1. In general, fully vaccinated people do not need to wear a mask outdoors. Fully vaccinated people might choose to wear a mask outdoors if they or someone in their household is immunocompromised.
    2. Unvaccinated scouts will wear a mask outdoors, as social distancing during events is challenging.
    3. Camping events will accommodate sleeping one scout per tent, or sleeping outdoors.
  1. Indoor Setting: Masks are required. Even if fully vaccinated, to maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others, we will wear a mask indoors.
  2. Proof of vaccination: If vaccinated, please provide the troop proof of vaccination.
  3. If symptomatic: Persons with signs or symptoms of COVID-19 should have diagnostic testing. Vaccination status should not affect the results of viral testing for SARS-CoV-2, so even vaccinated scouts should be tested if symptomatic.
  4. Duration of Isolation (return to usual troop activities):
    1. Isolation can be discontinued 10 days after the date of their first positive RT-PCR test result.
      1. You may be able to shorten quarantine, by receiving a negative test result (test should occur on day 5 of quarantine or later)
      2. While the CDC encourages symptom monitoring and strict isolation for 10 days, a negative test result, if available, would support resolution of infection.
      3. Loss of taste and smell may persist for weeks or months after recovery and need not delay the end of isolation.
